Walking in the path of Royalty

Off for breakfast this morning this "appeared on the quay side"
Well it may have been there last night!

After breakfast a walk up to the High Street..
I don't think I'd live here...

A bit like Freo in the early eighties.

Looking at the Merchant Navy Memorial.
Our Hotel Malmaison in the back.

The rotating bridge, with Swan cruising by.

Beautiful compass,
from the Britannia.

The Helm of Britannia,
the seat usually occupied by The Admiral.
Nothing but the best here!
With a crew of 220 every angle of sea life
 and Royal Travel was covered.

Her Bow..

The RR,
which had to have her bumper bars removed to fit in the hole.

The Royal rear deck.

Her Bell..

The rear sitting room,
designed by themselves!
Note the 2 vinyl saucer chairs.

Betty's bedroom.

Then through the door..
To Phil's

The Honeymoon Suite,
the only double bed on Britannia.

The Bar
Will that be Champagne Ma'am?

Well we had to have lunch in The Royal Deck Tearooms didn't we.
This No 1 attraction in the UK
certainly lived up to our expectations.

The Formal State Dining Room...
Seating up to 146.
Has hosted many Heads of State.
Splendid really!

The Royal Drawing Room
equally Splendid.

The Surgery.
Bear in mind she was built to be able
to be converted to a hospital ship in a matter of days.

The engine room.
Immaculate doesn't describe it.
She clocked over a 1million miles by 1994.

The Royal Toy...
The 12 mt. Yacht Bloodhound.
One of the most successful racing yachts
in history.

Gives a bit of scale to them both.
Alison I mean.

The front of Malmaison
1883
Sailors House.
