Dawn Breaks at the confluence of The Main River 

& The Rhine looking towards Mainz..

Last look back to The Main (pronounced Mine) 

On next port of call is Rüdesheim for the gondola ride.

Technical Difficulty !!!

This tickled my fancy though. 

Then a quick walk down the Drosselgasse..

a cute street full of tourist stuff.

Including these !!!

And these !!!!

Out on the main Strasse..

It is the main Riesling growing area after all...

Then Alison & I, Terri & Joe had a 

Rüdessheim Kaffee,

The local brandy flambé,  sugar (only 1 cube please instead of 3),

cream & chocolate.

A bit of all right, but I wouldn't suggest jumping on a plane

for one !!!

Then I thought I'd find out if they'd solved their 

"gondola difficulty".

So up I went solo...

The view was spectacular.

At the top there is this Rotunda..

And Germania...

in all her magnificence.

She has 32,000 kg of bronze,

and stands 12.35mts.

and resides 225 mts. above the Rhine

Awesome!!!

After I got back down I spied this

Centurion's Helmet.

Another Pub - Restaurant ..

One final look to Germania 

and we continued down the Rhine..
