Never Enough Time

After having a discussion with our hosts,
Alison decided that a trip into the
centre of Manchester wasn't a good idea.
So we headed out to Yorkshire. And we came upon this.

we arrived 5 minutes late but it didn't matter.

They were showing 2 birds.

We had the opportunity to get up close and personal.

This young lady Barn Owl was gorgeous.
Imagine calling her Barney !

She weighed about 10 ozs.
She wasn't too impressed trying to fly in the
strong wind.

As you can see by her feathers and my hair
it was strong !
But we felt very privileged to get
so close to such magnificent birds.

We stopped for lunch here.
Lovely food and a tiny cheese shop
among  other small shops.

They had this beautiful felt "painting" on display.
Sadly it was too big to fit in our cases!!

This was another small issue!

Now a friend of mine I think described
The Yorkshire Dales as God's Country.
I think she may have been right...
So here are a few of my attempts to do it justice.

We were driving down this little lane
and I heard the church bells ringing.
( could this be a sign?)
So I stopped for a play..

A wee bit of selective colour...
I think Scotland has rubbed off on me!

This looks like a big stone smile.

The dry stone walls are everywhere.

More selective colour.

And a nice village scene to finish off...

Then on to Nicky's Alison's Goddaughter
to see her and meet Stuart her Husband.
Then a fantastic surprise...
Johnny B was here waiting.
Alison & Johnny grew up together.
Sabrina was here too.

So L to R
Stuart, Nicky, Jonathan & Sabrina.

Stuart & Nicky

A great night was had..
Never enough time !!!

And then one with the six of us...
