Should be clean by now....Glastonbury

John was working again today.
Alison's "Bucket List" had included Glastonbury.
Mary's comment was "there's some weird people there!"
But she came along too..
This is the George Inn
rebuilt in the mid 15th century to accommodate pilgrims.
She was right!

The Girls doing the Glastonbury
Tercentennial Labyrinth.
Now who mentioned "weird people?"

A wee bit of B&W
Well they didn't have colour
in those days!

Then onto Glastonbury Abbey
Below is a great model showing
how spectacular it was.

Fragments of the stone work
and the painted glass.

Some of the small detail work.
Click on this to read.

And this..
Read about this small pointy object
that ended up getting his just desert!!!!!

I love doors...

Incredible..

Then out into the ruins.

The Abbot's Kitchen was one of the few survivors.

This place was a fantastic design.

Really well set up with fresh herbs
in the display.

Looking up to the vent in the top
which acted as an extractor for the smoke.

Selective colour on a very dull day.

The Pilgrims....

I've included this one to show detail
of how the building was constructed then faced.

Mucking about...

One of the afore mentioned people....

A crystal alignment..

Then the Herb Garden....
looking back to the Kitchen.

Then finally looking up to Ruin on the Tor.

Another ticked off!
