We got to John & Mary's to a wonderful welcome.
And a fairly liquid evening with a lovely meal.
Next morning a quick tour of the city.
Guess what I spied...
Then through the Circus.
Then Camden Crescent...
Now that's posh !
From there into town for a quick look about..
Milsom St. where all the top end shops are.
Followed by a very pleasant lunch.
Assume the pose !
From there we parted ways & Alison & I
headed for the Roman Baths.
The history of this area is remarkable.
Sadly no bathing here anymore.
But the green water doesn't turn me on...
Even a couple of locals "from the past"
After the last time Alison was here "it's changed a bit"
This model shows what it was like.
This was in the Temple..
fantastic.
This fellow of Middle Eastern descent
was found near by.
Minerva the goddess of Aquae Sulis.
Below is the source flowing into the Baths.
The twinkles are coins...
we have two wishes.
Then outside to the Cathedral...
How's that for a door ?
And the Flying Buttresses!
More to come.
