Day 464 Lamington Nation Paark

Although we had already passed the turn off to Lamington Nation Park and O'Reilly's, we did a day trip out from Byron Bay through a lot of the back roads, with fabulous scenery to the famous O'Reilly's at the top of the National Park. On the way we came across a winery called O'Reilly's Winery...funny that hey!!?? Had to stop, got talking to the wine operations manager, Mark Thurbon, as one does and he mentioned a great port in the making......
......this Cab Sav had been picked at 23 baume, so it was half way there already.... even got a taste and it is already like a port! (Had to take a picture as it is in Barrel 13)
Then off to the top....great cafe and I needed something as the roads were very twisty...at least we did not have Turtle on the back for this bit. Anyway, while having a coffee and cake we were surprised to see the Satin Bower Bird right there with us.....(normally very difficult to see)...
...we also had Crimson Rosellas that thought our left over cream was just great!!!!
The view was not so good as the last of the dust storm was still hanging in the air...we even got some hail before we headed back down the hill!! ( I just love these shades of grey. S.D.)
