We left Black Point and headed South.
Ozie and Maria had suggested Point Turton as a
good base to do our exploring of the South Coast.
They could not have given us better advise...
this is the jetty viewable from our site...
fishing here we come!!!
First day we went across to Yorketown and Edithburgh.
There is a Wind Farm and Stephen could not resist the old and the new!
The only Lighthouse that has only a brick finish!
This appealed to my sense of humour...
The area is called Suicide Cliff.
The coast line is rugged which shows with many wrecks along the way.
Nice to get some good weather for a change..
it makes so much difference to the colours.
Into Innes National Park, were they had an Emu Crossing...
The Emu's were there ever time we passed....
maybe not so dumb!!
This beautiful Peregrine Falcon gave Stephen a walk for the photo,
but it was worth it,, I can feel another picture coming on!!
Cape Spencer Lighthouse.
Would you believe we found some guys who had gone to the base and fished!!!
Wreckage of the Ethel and Ferret, still evident in the sand.
Stephen with Althorpe Island in the background.
Kangaroo Island is behind that.
Drove into Inneston, a Historic Township in the National Park.
At it's peak the mine employed 200 people in the mining & processing Gypsum the mine operated from the early 1900's until the depression of 1930.
Some of the old buildings have been restored and can be rented out as accommodation.
This is the recently restored Post Office.
The view over Inneston Lake back to the township.
