Birthday Part Three

Day Two of the Birthday.

Bill & Di had told us about an open day at Como Gardens in the Dandenongs.

Como Gardens belongs to George Hettrel, the inventor of Rocky Road & Banana Lollies..
We had seen George with his Bugatti at Phillip Island 3 years ago...

This is a "Man's Shed"

Kristian & his friend Luke ( our Chauffeur ) for the afternoon, examining an Aston Martin DBS...

A Mercedes Benz 540  that belonged to Heir Junkers the manufacturer of
the German Bombers during WW2.
One just sold in Europe a few weeks ago for $8,500,000 hmm....

As it was the 100th. anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic they put on
a re-inactment of the sinking, complete with iceberg....

Crash

Down she went....

The last sight they saw before she went down...
sadly they didn't have the big life raft to save the 1500 odd souls that went down with the ship.

Kristian Luke & Bassie strolling through the Gardens...

Kristian at the Teddy Bears Picnic....

Now Bassie's idea of time with the rabbit's.
I conquered !!!!

George firing up the old Renault. Not bad for 80 plus...

Now it was time to fire up the Bugatti...
On full noise it was AWESOME.....

A work of art....

Out in the car park,
this 1971 Mercedes Benz 280se 3.5lt. Coupe, was a beauty.

And to finish the day off we headed back to Robert's new abode for a lovely dinner...
now that was a birthday.......
