Mt Fields Nation Park

The following day we still awaited the much talked of good weather..
so used the time to revisit Mt Field National Park.

We made our way into Russell Falls and this is one time that we were glad of the rain...
the falls were beautiful and much more so than the last time....
just to make our day better...we had just seen a Platypus swimming in the stream...
we had all seen them before but not like this.
We had seen glimpses and today we saw one darting
from one part of the bank to the next....fabulous!!!!

The Awesome Foursome.

Half way up to the top of the falls...

...then to the top..can't believe that this small area creates the falls below..

Last time we were here we could not get through to Horseshoe Falls
as they were working on the paths etc....great photo Stephen.

Three went on to Lady Barron Falls, but I had been told about the 237 steps
so walked back down the track to the Visitors Centre.

Jumping back into the car we went on up to Lake Dobson, obviously very Alpine in its vegetation...

...look at the colours on this Sub Alpine Gum....I can feel a painting coming on!!
