We moved onto Hobart were we had allocated a week to do the rounds. Stephen and I had stayed at the Treasure Island Caravan before so had booked ahead to get a good spot.
Not a bad spot at all..this is the view from our front window!!!!
Richard had found a walk through Hobart in the Lonely Planets book, now this was a fairly full on day so I have divided it all up into three parts.
The statute above is at Victoria Dock..we had photographed the Seals, etc before but this time we noticed this Antarctica Memorial..more of that to come in following pictures!!
Notice the trend here...Maria Island..the statute is of Louis Bernacchi son of the Bernacchi who started the Wine and Silk industries in Maria Island....having seen this I did my normal of search for anything about the family and/or Maria Island...watch this spot!!!
The coffee was sooooo good, Richard wishes he has a longer tongue!!
The view of the wooden boats at Constitution Dock.
We then went to the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, were would you believe they had a huge exhibition on Antarctica. Interesting view point above.
Guess who we found!!!!
Around the corner to Elizabeth Street Pier and all the modern boats..the sleek lines and high masts.
This shot did not bother me until......
.....Stephen asked me to look up..reverse Vertigo!!!!
Still prefer the oldies but goodies...
Onwards to St David's Park. This holds the Memorial walk...old head stones have been lifted and placed in a wall....you may notice above that we found another mention of Maria Island.
