MONA Gallery or the Gallery of Museum of Old and New Art.
This fascinating place was developed by a philanthropic gambler.
We had heard so much about this Mona Gallery but were still not sure what was going to hit us....
first the queue....
...with it's own art for your perusal....
...all laid out in such a way that it is worth the wait.....
...you descend into the depths and are instantly enthralled by the variations of Art....
this water fall that looks like a bubble jet printer....
...this display of Piglet and a body are knitted in Video tapes.....
....like a DNA Double Helix, made from Bronze.....
....live art, Tim has sold his skin, which is a work in progress,
he sits there and displays his skin...so still ....
...the sound tunnel....mood music...or moody music...your pick...your steps strike notes as you walk...
...the Death Room...2000 year Sarcophagus, never opened...
...then next to it is an MRI scan which peels back each layer until you are at the skeleton...
...there is old stuff....
...and more old stuff...
...and Roman Coins by the Star System...
...and back outside there is new art....
do you call this Art?
View from the Morilla Winery, being the oldest winery in Tasmania.
That is Toby in the foreground and way back is Turtle at the Caravan Park.
