Hobart Walk Part 3

A friend of Stephen's had told us about the Royal Tennis Club, saying that it was a must visit while in Hobart...when presented with this building the questions was why?

The Phantom Photography strikes again....this place was amazing...well worth the visit.

You may ask why I was pointing to the awards board.....

...well apparently I was very good at this even before I was born...(check out A W Knight)

The Clubroom dates from before 1850 and the courts from the 1870's. As you can see they are still in use today. The site is thought to be the earliest home of the sport in Australia.

To give you and idea the balls are the size of a tennis ball but the weight of a baseball, they are all hand made on the premises. If you hit the Monk in the corner it is an automatic point....
last time I saw this game being played was at Hampton Court in the UK
