Day 485 Mount York

Don't ask me why but I really wanted to go to Mount York.....I had missed out after the Bathurst trip so Stephen obliged and took me the next day!!
Mount York is were Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson found the first route over the Blue Mountains in 1813...Stephen is sitting on the Wishing Chair beside the arch which leeds to the Monument and views across the Valleys below.

When you drive up and down this section of the Blue Mountains it is sooooo impressive that the first road was built in 6 months by 28 men...feel exhausted just thinking about it. Certainly it was well worth the effort to go and see.
