Day 404 Cairns

On our way from Atherton to Cairns we heard from, yes you guessed it "the Stalkers". Would you believe they were only 1 k in front of us... so we arranged to met at the caravan park..really some people you can't get away from...only joking...lovely to catch up!We arrived in Cairns and went with Alison and Graham into the city after set our selves up in one of the smallest sites we have ever had.....just get the awning out!! Stephen had been here many moons ago and remembered the coast as above....
this is the new coast....massive difference...I think he enjoyed the changes though...well the views anyway...how many bruises have you got Stephen??????
No really, we were quite impressed with the new swimming area and the Esplanade..some eateries, but on the whole we are so over Cities...not sure how we are going to cope coming back to little old Perth.
Just up the road from the caravan park was an unusual tree, well three trees, apparently there are only two sites for these trees in the whole of Australia....and this one is not signposted and by the side of the road...this is the Cannonball Tree....the fruit is like a coconut but round!!
This is Crystal Cascades, which our caravan park was named after...the water was crystal and the walk up to the cascades pleasant, but the area was not conducive to photography with yes..you guessed it...fencing!!
