The Botanical Gardens were a little bit boring...but Stephen did manage to find a large clump of Black Bamboo..his favourite!
Then off to the Main Museum the Cook Museum. Again very well presented with the original anchor from the Endeavour and a Cannon (see in the back ground) as well,these were only recently found & restored after an extensive search.
This is also worth blowing up and reading, very interesting, extremely poignant!
The museum is in fact the old Convent...can you believe that five Nuns came out from Ireland to start the Convent and run a school all those years ago...most are actually buried at the Cemetery!
Then we were off again, heading for the Tip..first port of call was this Lookout at Black Mountain National Park...yep these mountains are black and have almost no vegetation on them... weird!
