Launceston Day 2

We spent a couple of days doing the tourist thing and visiting some things again and some for the first time.....down at Sea Port there re some lovely eateries and Fish and Chips was on the agenda..

Some lovely old wood boats were in the marina and even a chap with the ever faithful dogs...maybe it was the food he was eating!!

On to a revisit of the Timber Design Centre...some of the stuff here is out of this world.....

This superb Huon Pine Sideboard was about 8ft. long.

These would you believe are fishing nets..remind me of the original tennis racquet but the strings are a bit loose.....

Marquetry or Inlaid artwork..a series of these  done in Huon Pine & Tasmanian Timbers, stunning.

Talking of Huon Pine... a young example at the back & Celery Top at the front. The Lady in attendance would come along & "mist " them regularly.

Not only a display but a gallery as well, bit pricey, but well worth the look, check out the carving behind Alison.....
