Heading to A & A's

A trip back to Venus's Pool gave us another perspective.

It was the "Cup Weekend" so the place was
overrun by Grockles.

A magnificent place.

From there a quick drive through to Ballarat.
Queen Victoria was Holding Court in the main street.

Another case of beautiful
Gold Rush architecture.

Alison & I went to the exhibition of paintings for
The Archibald Prize...
There were some lovely paintings....
But No Photos !

Spectacular Lace Work.

Craig's Royal Hotel was another prime example
of Colonial Architecture

The stairway to the rooms upstairs.

A bit of B&W on a very gray day.

When we got to A&A's we were soon to be greeted by
"The Kookas"

Now their driveway is steep !
Was Alys having "a blonde moment"
or what ?

Alan had been held captive by his broken ankle
and was happy to head up to Chateau Tahbilk.

A little bit of history
showing the various labels of their Marsanne..
A few bottles of that came home !

Down to the cellars...

More doors !

Hmmm!

I think they enjoyed it.

That was followed by a lovely lunch at the cafe.

It doesn't get much better than this !

One of the old tree stumps that were cleared in the 1860s

Just wanted to try this...
but it probably would have been better
with the 8mm lens!
