After a 13 hour flight from Singapore
( God I hate flying! )
We arrived in Munich @ 5 am.
A quick checkin at our Hotel had us off into the Marienplatz..
The entrance to the main city centre.
It wasn't quite deserted when we got there but !
We had asked at reception where we could get good coffee ,
as I unlike Alison had about 1and1/2 hours of broken sleep.
Richters was the reply...
Well the German serves aren't exactly small & the pastries !!!
Kilo Calories...God knows what we're going to look like after this trip.
Zeppelins probably!
We walked a couple of doors down & Alison
was taken by this fantastic collection.
The opposite side of the entrance must've been the "boys side"
Outside the Hunting & Fishing Museum sat these great statues
of a Wild Boar & Fish.
The New Townhall houses the Carillon
Fantastic , we were there in time to see & hear it.
A wee bit of selective colour had the gold standing out.
Half of the fabulous front door.
Another door!
Part of the amassed crowd waiting for 11 am.
The Carillon with Jousting Knights
and Dancing Men.
No wonder Bavaria is home to the Cuckoo Clock.
And the Statue I nearly crashed into coming out of the info centre
(while he was walking )
More to come...
