Discovering Denmark 2015

After much ado with the hip operation, we eventually managed to leave

 hot Perth and head South.We had had many discussions as to the way

 to take to get to Denmark, but in the end the Bush Fires decided our course.

W travelled down the Albany Highway and had nearly 100k's of smoke

 to contend with. This was from a fire out of Boddington.

Stephen had to get the windmill !

Just after Arthur River, we drove in clear air to the South West to Lake Towerinning.

In the evening we could see the glow of the bushfires below that smoke...

We had intended to stay a couple of days on the trip South 

but unfortunately the Lake Towerinning camping 

sites were fully booked for the weekend...

 so we moved on...we may come back this way

 as the bird life and the Lake are worth the trouble.

Our local bird of interest...a Yellow Rumped Thornbill.

John Brown had told us about friends of his and Jenny's that lived in Denmark.

In fact we had a delivery to make to them from John. 

Helen and Kevin very kindly offered for us to put

 the Turtle in their back yard and enjoy their company for a couple of days...

On their back patio area was a pond....with multiple Frogs.

I even got a small window of opportunity to paint.

Looking at some of Helens earlier works it was surprising to see 

how similar we were in styles...

maybe a joint exhibition!!!

Onwards to the Caravan Park on the Sunday...

catching up with Debs, Anthony, Alan and Jenny.

The Monday was Sis's birthday...

so we went to Willoughby's for wine tasting and lunch...

so full!!

Situated at the River Mouth Caravan Park there is lots to see in the Inlet.

Morning walks for Stephen bringing pictures for the blog.

On the Tuesday Stephen and I went to Albany to the Anzac Memorial Museum.

What an  amazing place...well worth the visit and a must do if in the area.

We did a small tour around all the other buildings.

as to how small our world is getting.

While visiting the Anzac Memorial Museum, 

we came across two sets of friends.

Howard and Colleen, 

and

Penny and Russell.

It's a small world isn't it!!!!
