And then the Rain Came

Our first morning in Clare dawned clear
so a walk along the Riesling Trail was in order.

My favourite Red on my favourite
White so why not B and W !

Bud Burst....

I wish ours at home would do this !

A paddock of Orange ??
Quite spectacular.

Then as I walked past the Conservation Park
Sitting on 11 eggs....

Then the Rain Came !!!!!!!

Same spot next morning ...

Looking down from the bridge,
that white pipe is the water into the Van Park.
The next day it was broken....
ergo no water and no power !

A trip into to town to make a phone call ,
"This can't be good!"

Nor this !

We stayed 2 nights even though the SES
wanted us to leave !

The third night OUT !
So over to the Showgrounds....
No power , No water.
But we had a pleasant Happy Hour !

The rain had eased so I walked over to the Park
our sight was the one on the left....
Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to leave !

We headed South to the Barossa
Now aren't Windmills meant to pump water from underground....

The Bitch in the Box took us through God Knows Where
in the Adelaide Hills ....
But this tickled our fancy !
The sign put up by his wife we assume said
"He's Nuts!"

Heading to Clare

After another "bone rattle" on the road out of Spear Creek
we drove over Horrocks Pass.
I had to take a picture of the Old Homestead !

We've never seen it this green before,
and the creek was running.

Toby having a rest after the climb,
while I took the pics.

Naturally a  stop at Melrose for Coffee.

I 'suppose if I was old as this I'd be saggy too !
Don't say word Alison !!!!!

An Old Favourite

On the way across the top of
The Eyre Peninsula is Wudinna,
and this magnificent Pink Granite
memorial statue.

On through Port August to
Spear Creek

We've been here a couple of times and love it.
But with all the rain SA has been having ,
the upper part of the creek was flowing.

Then down near the camp site it just disappears !?

Up on the hill were these beauties..
So a bit of B&W

This is the South Flinders Ranges

No wonder Hans Heysen
loved painting up here !

Just because they looked cute
with the Sun on them !

T&T in residence.

Sunset on the Hills.

Shearing Shed in Silhouette .

Panorama

T & T were sad to leave ,
maybe on the way Home !

Ceduna

We got into Ceduna after 550ks...
So off to the Pub for dinner.
Next day the Sun was a shining !
So a walk on the Pier was in order.

All looked good !
Until I went down the steps....

Then it didn't look so good !!!
They were once Iron Supports....

Then out towards Denial Bay
and the McKenzie Ruins.

Just as we leaving...
If a Tidy Desk is the sign of a Sick Mind...
What's this then ?

Whales and Windmills

This was a case of Deja Vu
This is exactly like my first Camper
I bought in 1981.
It just took Alison 26 years from then to get into
Caravanning !

From there onto the Cliffs of The Great Australian Bight..

A different view with the tracks at the base
before they become vertical .

I've been everywhere man !

We pushed on to race the rain.

To get to The Head Of The Bight.

No matter how many times we see these wonderful
animals , they give us great pleasure.

The end of The Bight

The Phantom Photagrapher
A bit different to 8 years ago !

Pushing on to Penong,
where the Windmill Museum has just opened.

We saw an article on it on Landline
just before we left Perth.

Toby and Turtle
loved it , so did we !
The large one is a Comet
the largest Windmill in Australia.

Anyone for a portable Windmill ?

An absolutely fabulous display,
thanks to all involved ,
and well worth a visit.

Now how the hell can I get one home ?
