Walpole Mt Franklin
Hi Guys.. Here is another experiment... Video movie of one of our shakedown trips.. set to music... next attempt will be with voice over.
Anyway enjoy, this was a trip with my sister Debbie and her husband Anthony to a small place on the South coast called Walpole. It was wet and windy for most of our trip but we still had a great time.
You can see that there are some fantastic trees, they are mostly the Tingle tree, including one of the best pictures I have of Debs & Anthony actually standing inside the living tree!
The other shots are mostly of Mt Franklin... which was a huge climb. Stephen had gone on ahead and thought I would not follow.... I got there in the end of climbing at least a couple of hundred steps!! All that and no seat to sit on just a Fire Lookout!!!
More to follow.
Estimated leave date now between the 1st-14th July.

The Interior
Now that you have the idea of the blog, I thought I would post a few more pictures of the exterior and interior of Toby and the Turtle. If you have not already worked it out the car is Toby and the caravan is the Turtle. The rego is just our way of getting a chuckle in the Grey Nomads society. For those of you not in the know the Grey Nomads are the brigade of old farts that travel Australia.
The picture of the car port with both of them in it, is in fact the new carport that we had built to house them last year. A bit of a monster outside our little cottage in the Hills.

In the Begining
In the begining there was just a thought of a thought of an adventure. That was about two years ago now.
After many viewing and design changes Stephen and I selected the Trailcraft 640 Dirtroad caravan. This process took about a year , then the van took another 7 months.
We collected the van, named Turtle in November 2007 and the picture here is of our first trip to Dwellingup on a shake down trip. Fabulous time except that the shake down also shook off Stephen's bike of the back!
Anyway, this blog is being set up so that the trip around Australia will be documented for all the see. I will put up some more pictures and details before we head off. I might even try to do a video! The learning curve is getting bigger and bigger!!
